Slipping and sliding and crashing and bumping — these are a few of our least-favorite things about winter.
Slick roads are making life busy for law enforcement and tow truck drivers as a widespread snow event has caused havoc all over Lorain County. The National Weather Service in Cleveland had snowfall totals at 1 p.m. ranging from 1.1 inches in Wellington to 2.0 inches in Sheffield Lake to 2.4 inches in North Ridgeville.
Snow is expected to accumulate up to another inch this afternoon and another half-inch tonight before tapering off to snow showers tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
Susan Krall, a dispatcher for the Elyria post of the State Highway Patrol, said they were being kept busy with several crashes Monday afternoon, but reported nothing involving serious injuries.
Many of the crashes involve cars sliding off the road.
As we adjust to driving in winter weather again, Krall reminds us to slow down, give ourselves extra time to get where we’re going and leave plenty of space between yourself and other cars.
