Lorain County is under a flood warning through this evening as temperatures rise and snow continues to melt, and minor flooding is already occurring, according to the National Weather Service.
Flood stage is 9.5 feet, and at 5 a.m. today the stage was 9.6 feet and rising. The river will continue to rise and will crest near 9.8 feet this morning, according to the National Weather Service.
At 9.5 feet, flooding begins south of Elyria in Carlisle Township.
The National Weather Service warns not to attempt to drive through flooded roadways as the water may be deeper than it appears.
