Corrections officer jailed for killing wife overnight

GRAFTON TWP. — A Lorain County Jail corrections officer has been jailed for murder after allegedly killing his wife overnight.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 14900 Cowley Road in Grafton Township about 1:30 a.m. after William Dembie, 42, called to report he had beheaded his wife, Holly Dembie, 33.

Deputies found Holly Dembie dead behind the home, according to the Sheriff’s Office. She was not beheaded but had been stabbed multiple times.

William Dembie has worked for the Sheriff’s Office for 12½ years and has now been placed on administrative leave.
