With three steals a game, Justin Ladegaard has been a staple for the Eagles tough nosed defense, but will they be able to slow down the high flying offense of the Comets? avon-v-amherstOur Saturday double header opens with the Avon Lady Eagles at Amherst. Back in November, it was the Comets who claimed victory over the Eagles in a 73-60 final.  With 16 points a night Sydney Roule has been the back bond for the Lady Comets offensive attack. To counter, The Lady Eagles will turn to a defense that has allowed opponents just an average of 45 points a game this season. Tip-off of this Southwestern Conference battle begins at 2pm Saturday. open-door-v-firelandsOn Saturday night, it’s a boys non conference match-up between the Open Door Patriots and the Firelands Falcons. It will be a testing weekends for both teams who will be playing the back end of a back-to-back when the ball flies high on Saturday evening. The duo of Nick Denney (16.3 ppg) and Collin Meyers (16 ppg)  have been giving opponents fits all year. However, the Falocons can not be fooled by the 3-6 record of the Patriots. Open Door has played a very strong non conference schedule that includes Oberlin, Cuyahoga Heights and Wellington. Pregame begins at 7pm Saturday on AM930.
