This year WEOL is going all in on High School Wrestling. Every Thursday night we will host the Cobos Insurance Center Wrestling Recap Show, with Rocco Nuosci and the Chronicle Telegram’s Shaun Bennett. They will talk about everything that took place on the mats, preview the upcoming week and speak with the coaches.

December 3rd, Week 1Elyria Wrestling Coach Erik Burnett joins the show to talk about how he’s kept busy during the pandemic and what the upcoming season might look like across Lorain County. 

December 9th, Week 2: Vermilion coach Brandon Gilbert joined Shaun and Rocco to talk about how the Sailors continue to get events under their belt while other county teams are forced to wait until the 14th. 

December 16th, Week 3: Avon coach Jeremy Johnson joined the program to talk about the return of the SWC and how excited him and his Eagles are to get back out on the mats!

December 23rd, Week 4: Elyria Wrestling Coach Erik Burnett makes his 2nd appearance on the show this year as he recaps a busy start to the season for his Pioneers.

December 30th, Week 5: The guys break down another week of high school wrestling action in Lorain County and talk to a couple of Elyria Pioneer wrestlers at the Elyria Holiday Duels!

January 6th, Week 6: Amherst wrestling coach Vinny Curiale stops by as the guys talk about a busy week of wrestling around Lorain County as well as the upcoming SWC Tournament this weekend!

January 13th, Week 7: Tom Evans pinch-hits for Shaun Bennett this week as the guys are joined by North Ridgeville’s Joel Melvin and recap a fun and entertaining SWC Tournament from the previous weekend!

January 20th, Week 8: Tom Evans is in for Shaun Bennett once again as Keystone wrestling coach Chris Vondruska joins the program to detail how the Wildcats have been so impressive in Lorain County League action!

January 27th, Week 9: Shaun makes his triumphant return to the show as the guys talk to Clearview wrestling coach Jason Steadman!

February 3rd, Week 10: Erik Burnett from Elyria joins the guys once again as the Pioneers have found themselves in a number of heated battles so far this season. 

February 10th, Week 11: Fresh off a Lorain County League Tournament win, Keystone wrestling coach Chris Vondruska returns to the show to recap an impressive outing from his Wildcats. 

February 17th, Week 12: This week is all about women’s wrestling! Jessie Lee (Tiffin University wrestler) and Vanessa Oswalt (Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association Girls Representative, WLAG SanctionOH Chair, and Olentangy Orange HS Girls Wrestling Assistant Coach) joined the show to talk about just how much the women’s wrestling scene continues to grow.

February 24th, Week 13As the boys sectionals approach this weekend, Coach Josh Walbom from Firelands joins the show to talk about expectations for his Falcons as well as his thoughts on how the sectional tournaments are being formatted this year. The guys also recap this past weekend at the girls state tournament!

March 3rd, Week 14With sectionals on the horizon, the guys talk districts results alongside Midview wrestling coach Shawn Bristow!

March 11th, Week 15: Columbia head coach Dan Juilani joined the program this week as the guys get ready for an action-packed State Tournament weekend!

March 17th, Season Finale: As the state tournament came to a conclusion this past weekend, Rocco and Shaun close out the season talking with Avon wrestling coach Jeremy Johnson!
