July 9th Governor DeWine Briefing Recap and COVID-19 Update

Threat Level 3

Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in Lorain County, the county is now in emergency threat level 3. This means that wearing a mask when indoors at a public space will be mandated. The new order goes into effect Friday, July 10th, at 6 PM.

Educational Funding

Governor DeWine has spoken with leadership in the General Assembly, and he is requesting that the Controlling Board approve his initial request on Monday to allocate $200 million for higher education and $100 million for K-12 educational institutions. This funding comes from federal CARES Act dollars and schools would be able to use it to meet their unique individual needs. He intends for this funding to be very flexible to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
