The Lorain Titans are state bound!!

On Friday, March 23rd prepare for the Lorain Titans state semifinal match-up with Cincinnati’s Archbishop Moeller starting at 3:30pm  on AM930 and WEOL.com stream 1 during the our special presentation, The US Army Titans’ March to State. The Show will feature all the highlights from the season, interviews with those close to the team along with analysis on the Titans season and the State Tournament ahead.

After the special presentation, it is tournament time! At 4:30pm listen to Tim Alcorn on the call as he brings you all the action from Columbus, Ohio for Lorain vs Archbishop Moeller.

On March 3rd, the Lorain Titans opened tournament play with a 68-31 win over North Ridgeville in the Sectional Finals.

In that game, Taevon Pierre-Louis not only lead the Titans on the score sheet, but matched the total score for North Ridgeville with 31 points.

In the District Semifinals the Titans battled Midview to a 73-64 victory.

Jordan Jackson hit a late lay up in the final quarter to help the Titans to the win. Jackson finished the game with 6 points. Titans Junior, Devone Grant lead all scorers in the game with 31 points

On March 10th the Lorain Titans fought their way to a tight 58-55 final over Strongsville in the  District Championship.

With Taevon Pierre-Louis and Devone Grant getting into foul trouble, the Titans turned to Senior Jaiden Sledge. While his team was trailing the Mustangs in the third Period, Sledge hit three three pointers lifting the Titans to the District title and a trip to the Regional Tournament.

In the Regional Semifinals the Titans needed overtime to overcome St. Edward 72-69 at the University of Akron’s JAR Arena

Junior Devone Grant put the Titans on his shoulders as he tallied Lorain’s final 15 points of the game finishing with a game high 34 points and knocking off the favored Eagles

The Titans upset St Edward to move on to the Regional Final

On March 17 it was the Clash of the Titans as Lorain traveled to the University of Toledo to take on St. John’s Jesuit.  Once again, Lorain played the role of the underdog and once again, when the buzzer sounded it was Lorain on top of a 47-44 finish over St. John’s.

After being held scoreless against St. Eds, Sophmore Jordan Jackson made his mark against St. John’s with an impressive 14 points helping the Lorain Titans claim the schools first ever Regional Title.
