Game info from Indians’ tie with the Angels on Friday

Indians (5-0-2) 7, (split-squad) Angels (2-4-2) 7

Hits: Fausto Carmona tossed three shutout innings and allowed just a hit in his exhibition debut. … Matt LaPorta was 1-for-2 and drove in the Indians’ first two runs with a single in the second. … Reliever Rafael Perez faced the minimum in the seventh with two strikeouts. He hasn’t allowed a hit and has struck out five in three appearances (three innings). … Catcher Mike Redmond went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. … Sandusky native Brian Bixler, who is trying to make the team as an extra outfielder, went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run. … Left fielder Trevor Crowe made a diving catch in the sixth and his throw to double up Brandon Wood at first was in time, but Andy Marte couldn’t handle the ball on a hop. The Indians still got the out after an appeal, because Wood had rounded the second-base bag and did not step on it again on his way back to first.

Misses: Jake Westbrook allowed four runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings of his second exhibition start. He allowed hits to the first three batters he faced, capped by Mike Napoli’s three-run homer. … Reliever Joe Smith allowed the Angels to tie it in the ninth with three runs on three hits and a hit batter. Smith served up a two-out, two-run home run to Michael Ryan, then allowed the Angels to tie it after a bunt single followed by a base hit down the right-field line from Ryan Mount.

Grady and Pronk: Two of the Indians’ high-profiled players coming off injuries, Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner, were in the lineup.

Sizemore walked twice in three trips to the plate, including once with the bases loaded. He leads the team with seven RBIs in three games.

Hafner went 1-for-4 with a run and a walk. His hit was a line-drive single over the shortstop’s head. He has two singles in four games and 10 at-bats.
