Chief RF Engineer needed for retirement @Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting
You may not be looking to retire for a long, long time, but this may be the last position you’ll need until you’re ready to hang up your meters and FCC rule book years from now.
After 40+ years, our veteran chief engineer is retiring. We’re beginning the process of filling his position—which won’t be easy. Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting located in Elyria Ohio, operates 4 radio stations: WEOL am, WKFM fm, WLKR am/fm in Lorain, Huron and Erie counties, Ohio.
Our ideal Chief Engineer candidate should have 5-10 years experience in terrestrial broadcast radio dealing with radio station systems, hardware, infrastructure and directional antenna experience; live in, or very near our main broadcast site in Elyria Ohio; know RF theory and maintenance; be familiar with current FCC regulations, have working knowledge of the digital aspects of studios, links, towers, antennas and transmission, and be on-call through wind, rain, sleet and snow…not to mention high school football games and client remotes.
Working hours for this position may be flexible, and may be modified to less than full time if that better fits your particular work week. Your ability to respond quickly to station need is a critical and necessary aspect of this position however.
If you’ve already “seen it all,” in your career, you may be perfect for this position. The chief engineer’s position requires someone to be innovative, a sometimes inventor, creative and electronically / digitally versatile. We offer a host of benefit options including healthcare, dental and 401K.
The position will not begin until May, 2013 and will involve “shadowing” our current Chief for several weeks to learn our operation thoroughly. A valid driver’s license is required, as well as a full background check and references before a final offer can be made.
Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting is an equal opportunity employer.
