TOLEDO — The death toll from a tornado that hit northern Ohio just over a week ago is now at six.

A 37-year-old man whose wife and son were killed in the storm died on Sunday at a Toledo hospital.

A spokeswoman for Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo says just one person remains in the hospital in serious condition.

Mercy Hospitals took in about 20 people after the tornado struck just southeast of Toledo on June 5.

Ryan Walters of Millbury died Sunday evening. He had suffered head and upper body injuries.

Family members have said he and his family were asleep in upstairs bedrooms when the tornado destroyed their house.

The couple’s 7-year-old daughter was released from the hospital over the weekend.
