Jesse was 3 years old when he was taken by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital, where he died from head injuries a few days later.

He had been living at the Joneses’ Amherst home at the time with his mother Alyson Sweany, who has also pleaded guilty in the case to child endangering charges.

Sweany was dating Peter Jones, the son of Dallas and Therese Jones, at the time. He hanged himself in June of last year, a few days before he was due in court to be sentenced for scalding Jesse while giving the boy a bath in January 2009.

Sweany and the Joneses will be sentenced later this year.
