Monday, 7/31/17

3:40-Mike Mochan of Aluminum Cans for Burned Children spent some time with us to discuss the history of the organization, who they serve, what they do and gave us a few details on their golf outing on Tuesday.

4:10-Tim Stried with the OHSAA called in to discuss the first week of practices for fall sports and discussed some of the rules and guidelines for fall practices as well as some of the changes made in regards to competitive balance.

5:10-Michael Warshauer filled in for our Hollywood Insider Al Harris and gave us the inside scoop on the latest trends in Hollywood.

6:10-Beckie Carlino from the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio joined us to talk about Thursday’s Operation Backpack event.

3:40-Professor Jovanovski with the 8th Annual Macedonian Festival joined us to tell us all about this year’s festival and the history of the event.

4:10-Shawn Dunagan of WBNS-TV in Columbus joined us to talk about what he witnessed at Big 10 Media Day earlier in the week as well as what to expect from the Buckeyes this season.

4:40-Charlie Vascallero, baseball historian, joined us to talk about the presentation he is giving on Thursday night at the Baseball Heritage Museum on the 70th anniversary of the Cactus League.

5:10-Mike Stevens and Webb Boiles of Lake Erie Harley Davidson and Primary Purpose Center joined us to talk about this weekend’s Hogs Against  Heroin Poker Run.

3:40-Rick Noland of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram joined us to talk about the wild and crazy off season for the Cavs.

4:10-Bill Harper of the United Way and Julie Chase-Morefield of the Second Harvest Food Bank stopped by in studio to talk about their strategic partnership to help both organizations better serve low-income families and individuals who need assistance in meeting their basic need.

5:10-Bill Henzy, President of Downtown Olmsted Falls came in studio to talk about the Olmsted Falls Heritage Days which take place August 3-6.

3:40-Jan Mettler of the Olmsted Historical Society came in studio to talk about all of the wonderful events they have coming up over the next few weeks.

4:10-Scott Petrak, Browns Beat Reporter for the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram stopped by in studio to talk about the expectations for the 2017 season and the debut of BrownsZone.com which launches on Wednesday, July 26.

5:10-Al Harris, our Hollywood Insider joined us to talk about the Dominance of Dunkirk at the Box Office this past weekend and some of the big news that came out of Comic-Con this weekend.

Friday, 7/21/17

3:40-Jeremy Guy with the Mid-American Conference joined us to talk about their Football Media Day at a new location this year, as well as the expectations for the MAC Football teams this fall.

4:10-Courney Kundmueller with Love a Stray stopped by to talk about the organization and what they do, and also told us about their Adopt-a-Thon event on Saturday afternoon at the Avon Lake Public Library.

5:10-John Frato joined us to talk about Euclid Beach Park Day on Saturday, and spent some time talking about the history of the Park as well as some of the legendary items that are still on display.

6:10-Mary and Tim Bryan of Invest Elyria were in studio to discuss Saturday’s Elyria Farmer’s Market Kids Day, with plenty of activities for kids, and how SNAP clients will have access to fruits and veggies at the market as well.

3:40-Jodi Bailey from the Lorain Palace Youth Theater joined us to talk about the summer program, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and told us all about their Shrek Musical which plays through the weekend.

4:40-Tammi Brown with the Greater Cleveland Aquarium spent some time with us to discuss Fin Fest, which takes place this weekend through the end of July and shared some fascinating shark facts as well.

5:20-John O’Brien with the Cleveland Irish Festival joined us to talk about the Festival this weekend, and all of the musical acts and activities which will be enjoyed by all that attend.

5:40-Candi and Geri with the Lorain County Pit Crew came in studio to tell us all about the organization, and gave us the details on this weekend’s Freedom Ride, which has some very fun and interesting festivities, as well as their Poker Run.

5:10-Al Harris, our Hollywood Insider stopped by to talk the latest news in Hollywood, including the reaction to the season 7 debut of Game of Thrones.

3:40-Katie Bevan and Heather Pastarek with the Lorain County General Health District joined us to talk about the upcoming Community Baby Shower.

4:10-Jeff Mancinetti of the 30 Hearts Organization joined us to discuss their mission, their Sponsor Appreciation party and their Gala in the fall.

4:40-Kasandra Kobak of Believe Dream Dare joined us to talk about their Snow Sisters Christmas in July Party next weekend.

3:40-Mathias Hauck and Ken Weaver from Avon Brewing Company joined us to tell us all about their first 10 months of business which have been incredibly successful.

4:40-Diane Alcorn from Arabica of Amherst told us whats happening throughout the summer and next week for the spotlight on Amherst.

5:10-Mary Beth Lee of Best of Lorain County told us all about the event and how it has grown tremendously over the years.

5:30-Greg Willey of the Friendship APL joined us to talk about being nominated for a couple of awards at Best of Lorain County and told us what the Friendship APL has been up to, while sharing some incredible rescue stories as well.

Wednesday, 7/12/17

3:40-Joel Hammond with the Cleveland Indians paid us his weekly visit and talked about all of the great things the Tribe has been doing not only on the field with their five All-Stars but off the field as well.

4:10-Beth Murphy, President of Avon On the Lake Garden Club joined us to talk about the history of the club, the mission of the club, all of the awards they came away with last  month and some of their projects they’ve been working on.

5:10-Jim Ingraham of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram joined us to talk about the MLB Network Documentary on the powerhouse Indians teams in the 1990’s titled “The Dynasty that Almost Was” which debuts Wednesday night at 7:30 and shared some thoughts and stories on those mid-late 90’s teams as well.

4:10-Elyria Police Chief Duane Whitley joined us to talk about their Coffee with Cops event which takes place Tuesday, July 18, as well as the five new officers who have become a part of the department over the last few months.

3:40-Steve Tahsler, Deputy Commissioner of the Frontier League joined us to talk about the league’s 25th anniversary, the 2017 Frontier League All-Star game and the 2017 Hall of Fame class as well.

4:10-Sandee Ruth, President of the Lorain County Computer Users Group stopped by to discuss their workshop on Google Photos, and their annual picnic which takes place at the end of the month.

5:10-Al Harris, our Hollywood insider made his weekly visit to the show and discussed the weekend at the Box Office, as well as a new television series directed by the Coen Brothers.

4:40-Jack Duffy, the new Athletic Director at Elyria Catholic High School joined us for our Ask the AD segment and gave us a little bit of information on his background and how he is handling his first 10 days on the job.

5:10-Lisa Hutson of the Ohio Small Business Development Centers stopped by to talk about their Wix Website Workshops which will take place at LCCC next week.

5:40-Tom Kramig, owner of the Lake Erie Crushers spent some time with us discussing all of the weekend activities at the ballpark, including all of their giveaways on Friday night where they honored their 1-millionth fan in franchise history.
