7/28/23 8:10 It’s the final Friday of the month, which means we get a visit from Elyria Mayor Frank Whitfield! Mayor Whitfield had a lot to talk about for the month of July, including programs and events for seniors as well as youth and families! Bike with the mayor continues to be a success, as was the DJ Pool Party on the 22nd! Plus, road resurfacing projects continue with the East Broad Street project starting later this month on the 31st. 7/27/23 8:10 Thank you Amed, and welcome Noah! The Cleveland Guardians made a big trade last night, acquiring starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard in exchange for shortstop Amed Rosario. Guardians radio broadcaster Jim Rosenhaus made his weekly stop as the guys went in depth on the trade, what it means for the team, and how Noah will help a starting pitching rotation that has been beaten up all year long. 7/27/23 8:40 U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown returned to the show as this week, he’s called on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to put in place a federal workplace heat standard as quickly as possible. Later this week, he’s also introducing the Asuncion Valdivia Heat Illness and Fatality Prevention Act which would create a universal heat standard requirement for workers who are threatened by hot working conditions. This week, the guys talked about the rising temperatures across northern Ohio that could see the heat index surpass 100! Plus, Kevin shared the latest on construction plans for about 100 apartments at the site of the former Thomas Jefferson school on Foster Avenue. (6:49)

Laura talked about a recent board approval for their Youth and Educational Development grants that total over $560,000! Plus, July 27th, they’ll be hosting a Chick-fil-A Dine and Donate for Lorain County Imagination Library at the Lorain Chick-fil-A on Leavitt Road. Finally, a Women’s Leadercast is also coming up August 8th at 5pm at Lakeview Park. (13:32)
