10/10/23 7:20 October is breast cancer awareness month. Meaghan B. Murphy is a successful magazine editor, author, and on-air personality. She was also at high-risk for developing cancer, specifically breast cancer. After the scare, Meaghan decided to take action and undergo genetic testing to get a fuller picture of her risk. Today, Meaghan is a 1-year “previvor” and is passionate about raising awareness for genetic testing and all of the preemptive tools that help prevent cancer or catch it early. She joined the guys to share her personal story, explain why she underwent testing, and the subsequent surgery and how her decision has empowered her to help others take action. (5:33)

10/10/23 7:40 Jim Ziemnik, Director of the Lorain County Metroparks, talked about their 1.6-mill replacement levy that will appear on the November ballot as Issue 23. It will help to maintain and expand the park service. He also promoted Halloween Fair at Carlisle Reservation. The family-friendly spooktacular event includes the haunted walking trail, with the pumpkin lagoon, train rides, food booths, games, and more! It’s Friday & Saturdays in October. (16:34)

The Lorain County Metroparks, the Black River Astronomical Society (B.R.A.S.), and Space Systems Consulting, LLC, are hosting an eclipse celebration at Lakeview Park in Lorain that day from 11am-3pm! Steve Schauer from the B.R.A.S. joined the Morning Show to talk about the event, which will include safe viewing of the eclipse through special telescopes! Plus, Steve shared his excitement for next April’s total solar eclipse that will bring thousands of visitors to Northeast Ohio. (11:32)
