Join us for this outstanding performance by the Academy of Chorus of St.Martin in the Fields, conducted by Sir Nevill Mariner. This edition of the musical work is considered to be a landmark recording for both the Academy and Handel’s Messiah itself. It marks the first time that the Academy was ever recorded, and the first ever recording of the version that was used by Handel for the 1743 London Premiere.
