Governor Mike DeWine Signs Bill That Bans Vaccine Requirements

Wednesday, July 14th, 2021

On Wednesday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed a new bill that will prevent the state’s education institutions K-12 from requiring a COVID-19 vaccine for enrollment.

This is passed through House Bill 244, which was amended in late June to prohibit schools and universities from requiring non-FDA approved vaccines.

Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff commented about the matter through a virtual zoom conference.

“We can reiterate that there is not, nor has there ever been, an intention on the part of the department to mandate vaccination,” Vanderhoff said.

However, Governor DeWine is confident that vaccines will be approved soon.
