This week brought us another edition of the WEOL High School Wrestling Weekly Recap, presented by Cobos Insurance Center and Century 21 DeAnna Realty.

Tom and Rocco were joined by Avon Lake’s head girls’ wrestling coach, Dennis Copfer! The Shoregals have had a dominant season thus far led by an incredible senior class that is determined to make even more noise before they hit the mats one final time.

Coach Copfer discussed this special group of girls, their successes this season, and expectations for the postseason.

Brandon Gilbert, Vermilion Head Wrestling Coach

Tom and Rocco were joined by Brandon Gilbert, who pulls double duty at Vermilion as both the boys and girls head wrestling coach. Coach Gilbert discussed the season so far, the gauntlet that is the Sandusky Bay Conference, the looming postseason, and of course, next week’s Stillman Cup!

Tom and Rocco checked in on the boys over in Grafton this week with Midview wrestling coach Paul Steele! The Middies graduated a lot of wrestling talent last spring, but that hasn’t kept them from working hard and maintaining those high expectations within the program. Coach Steele talked about their successes so far this season as they prepare for the postseason tournaments.
