This week brought us another edition of the WEOL High School Wrestling Weekly Recap, presented by Cobos Insurance Center and Century 21 DeAnna Realty.

Rocco and Tom were joined by former Elyria wrestling standout and current Elyria Catholic head wrestling coach, Mick Burnett! Mick talked about reviving EC’s wrestling program as he continues to build the roster, add kids to the program, and further their development.

Tom Withers

The Nick Abraham Saturday Sports Wrap Up Show was fortunate enough to be joined by longtime Associated Press writer Tom Withers

Withers spent 30 years with the AP, 26 of those in Cleveland, and is now calling it a career. Well, sort of.

Tom joined our Rocco Nuosci and Ron Jantz to talk about his time with the AP, particularly his years in Cleveland, and some of the incredible stories and athletes he covered along the way.

On this week’s episode of the WEOL High School Wrestling Weekly Recap, Tom Evans and Rocco Nuosci were joined by Becca Lynn, creator of the Lorain County Smackdown Facebook page and website. Becca keeps track of schedules, results, and takes some incredible photos of all the action on the mats. Becca talked to the guys about how she got her start with Lorain County Smackdown and her increasingly impressive coverage of local high school wrestling.

Of course, the guys go over recent results from around the county and talk about some of the upcoming action!
