This week brought us another edition of the WEOL High School Wrestling Weekly Recap, presented by Cobos Insurance Center and Century 21 DeAnna Realty.

Jason Steadman, Clearview Wrestling Head Coach

Our local wrestlers make their way down to Columbus this week for the State Tournament! To get there, a grueling district round stood in their way. Tom Evans caught up with Clearview wrestling Coach Jason Steadman as he recapped what his guys were able to do at the Independence District this past weekend.

Blake Owen, Black River Wrestling Head Coach

Plus, we were also joined by Black River’s Blake Owen, who coaches both the guys’ and girls’ wrestling programs, as they advanced a couple of individuals to Columbus this week as well.

Carlos Baerga, Former Cleveland Indian

The Nick Abraham Saturday Sports Wrap Up Show on WEOL welcomed in a very special guest this past weekend in the form of Cleveland Indians legend, Carlos Baerga!

Carlos was a part of those magical Tribe teams of the early to mid 90’s and still has fond memories of his playing days in Cleveland.

He joined our Ron Jantz and Rocco Nuosci to relive some of those glory days while sharing his excitement for the current Guardians roster, as Carlos predicts baseball fans in northeast Ohio will have another postseason contender to root for this summer.

Armando Torres, Elyria Pioneers Wrestling Head Coach

This week brought us another edition of the WEOL High School Wrestling Weekly Recap, presented by Cobos Insurance Center and Century 21 DeAnna Realty.

Tom Evans had a chance to catch up with Elyria boys’ wrestling coach Armando Torres following his team’s performance at the Pinkney East sectional this past weekend. Elyria finished second as a team, with three champions, two runner-ups, and 10 qualifiers now on to the district final. Take a listen to their conversation below!
