Lorain County Spelling Bee Recap

Last night our own Bruce Van Dyke served as the official pronouncer for the Lorain County Spelling Bee!

It came down to two finalists last night, Bridget Smith from Durling Middle School, and Lucy Carrion from Avon Middle School.

We replayed the final round on Friday morning’s Champions of Education, brought to you by the Nordson Corporation, helping build products the world uses every single day.

Take a listen below, and congrats to Bridget on her victory! She now heads to Washington D.C. to represent Lorain County in the Scripps National Spelling Bee from May 30 to June 1!

Lorain Girls Basketball Coach Feldmann Announces Retirement

Some news out of Lorain as Titans head girls basketball coach Mark Feldmann has retired from his coaching position.

Coach Feldmann has led the Lorain girls since 2010 and finishes with a record of 155-135.

Congratulations to Coach Feldmann on a stellar career!

Harvest for Hunger 2023!

The Second Harvest Food Bank’s “Harvest for Hunger” is the largest annual community-wide campaign in the country that raises food and funds to stock food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters throughout 21 counties.

 

 

Last year, the campaign raised over $340,000 and 4,000 pounds of food! Join the Second Harvest Food Bank this march by saying no to local hunger and yes to feeding families. For more information, visit the Second Harvest’s website HERE!
