Maureen Simen, Program Manager for Positively Oberlin, returned to the show to talk all about 2nd Saturdays in Oberlin! It’s all part of The Main Street Beat, presented by the Lorain County Visitors Bureau. Maureen talked about this Saturday’s theme, Discover Community in Oberlin, and shared some of the events that will take place including fireworks and live music!

More changes are coming to the basketball scene over at Firelands. With Alan Januzzi on his way to Open Door, Firelands has hired 2017 school graduate Colin Myers to lead the boys basketball program as head coach. Myers was a Division II All-Ohio Honorable Mention as a senior in 2017 and spent last season as the junior varsity coach under Januzzi. Todd Shapiro from The Chronicle-Telegram had a chance to talk to Coach Myers about his new position.

“There’s not many people who get the opportunity to coach at the school they graduated from,” Myers said. “It’s been very exciting. I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me that are excited to see where this program is heading.”
