entitled People and The Movement, Peace Community Church, 44 E. Lorain Street, Oberlin from 12 noon – 1:15 p.m.  Light refreshments served.

Saturday, January 16: 
31st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Festival sponsored by First Community Interfaith Institute of Ohio, Kanisa House, 142 Cleveland Street, Elyria at 11:00 a.m.  For more information call Rev. Gerald Johnson Evans at 440-366-3244.

Sunday, January 17:
Annual Lorain Branch NAACP King Program, Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves, Lorain at 3:30 p.m.  Featuring James Jones, Admiral King High School student and Friendship Church Youth Choir and Praise Dancing,

 Let the Music Ring Musical Program at 6:00 p.m., Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria.   A free concert presented by The Outreach Choir featuring local soloists, groups and musicians.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m.  All are welcome to attend.  For more information contact Mrs. Blossie Wright at 440-322-6063.

 Lorain Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the Lorain Palace Civic Center, 617 Broadway Avenue, Lorain at 7:00 p.m.  A community commemorative march begins at 6:30 p.m. starting at Lorain City Hall.  Enjoy free live entertainment, gospel music and guest speaker.

 Monday, January 18: 
Commemorative Walk from Ely Square to Elyria High School – 10:30 a.m. – Elyria High School auditorium, 601 Middle Ave., Elyria. Keynote speaker Mr. Benjamin I. Holbert III, U.S. Census Bureau Senior Partnership Specialist – music by the Elyria High School Pioneer Jazz Band under the direction of Mr. Jeff Bates. MLK Community Education & Information Fair-12:30-2:30 in the EHS Lobby area. Local civic, social and servic organizations will share community resource information.

King Holiday Soul Food Buffet at Marcel Hall, 117 Oberlin Road, Elyria from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.  The cost for adults is $10.00 and $8.00 children under 10.  This is sponsored by Marcel Holding Corp. 

 Oberlin Rededication to the Dream in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park from 12:10 – 1:30 p.m., corner of S. Pleasant and Vine Streets, Oberlin.
