Firelands VermilionThis weeks Kolczun & Kolczun Gridiron Clash on the radio features Firelands at Vermilion. The Falcons dropped their first game of the season to Edison, before getting back to their winning ways with a 51-8 victory over the Brooklyn Hurricanes. Logan Strader set the pace for Firelands by running the opening kick off back 60 yards for the games first score. Firealands never looked back after that. The Vermilion Sailors are 2-0 on the season after picking up impressive wins over Clearview and Fairview. In the Sailors week two win over the Warriors both Seth Hurd and Caine Zannoni rushed into the endzone for a pair of touchdowns.  Pregame begins at 6:30pm on AM930 and on WEOL.com Stream 1.

 

North Olmsted AvonOur Kolczun & Kolczun Gridiron Clash online features the Eagles of North Olmsted at Avon. Despite early season injuries, Avon has powered it’s way to a 2-0 record. Last week Avon opened up Southwestern Conference play with an impressive 31-7 win over their rivals from Avon Lake. Avon did most of their damage in the second half of the game scoring three third quarter touchdowns in the victory. North Olmsted enters week two coming off of a tough 41-6 loss to Midview. However, North Olmsted should feel at home this week having played their previous two games at Avon High due to the construction of their home field. Medina WadsworthThis week’s Tri-C Medina County match up features an undefeated Medina team traveling to take on  Wadsworth . The Bees advanced to 2-0 with an impressive 70-14 win over Kenston. Quarterback John Curtis threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns in the lopsided affair. Wadsworth enters week three coming off of a 35-0 loss to Wooster. Nick Abraham Saturday Sports Wrap-Up Show Heading to Linden’s Propane

WEOL High School Football Week Two

It’s a big weekend of High School football as we head into the Labor Day Break. This weekend we bring you three Kolczun & Kolczun match ups and of course our Tri – C Medina County Match – Up.

Amherst North RidgevilleOn Friday night the Amherst Comets look to notch their first win of the season when they head into the brand new Rangers Stadium at North Ridgeville High School. Both teams are coming off of tough week one losses and will be looking to get back on course in their first week of Southwestern Conference play. Wellington ColumbiaOur second Kolczun and Kolczun Gridiron Clash game on Friday night feature the Wellington on the road at Columbia. The Dukes look to get back on track after falling to Chippewa High School in a Thursday night week one match-up. Columbia was tested in week one against Independence, but pulled out an overtime victory on a 20 yard touchdown pass from Cody Schwartz to Austin Sachila.  Pregame begins Friday night at 6:30pm on WEOL.com Stream 2.

 

Keystone CloverleafOur Tri-C Medina County Match pits Keystone against Cloverleaf. After going just 1-9 last year, the Colts looked strong in their 28-14 week one loss to Northwest. Keystone dropped their first game of the season to Cuyahoga Heights who returned many of their D-VI regional finals team from a year ago. While the final score saw the Redskins as 35 – 13 winner, the Wildcats won the second half of the game 13-0. The Wildcats will look to carry that momentum into Friday’s Game. Lorain ElyriaOn Saturday afternoon we head back to the field with a great rivalry. After an upsetting last second loss to Avon Lake, Elyria High enters week two looking to find their way back into the win column when they host Lorain. The Titans are also coming off of a week one loss to Midview. Both teams showed dynamic running ability in the opening week of the season before coming up just short. With two solid running teams Saturday’s game is bound to be a smash mouth brand of football. Pregame begins at 1pm Saturday on WEOL.com Stream 2.
