On July 13 WEOL will broadcast live from the seventh annual Best of Lorain County. More than sixty finalists in food, drink, and entertainment will compete to claim the title of Best of Lorian county at the Spitzer Conference Center on the campus of Lorain County Community College. The event will run from 6pm – 9pm. This Saturday afternoon WEOL will be at the Lorain International Festival. Come hangout with us at the Black River Landing as we enjoy the great cuisine, culture, and music from around the world. If you can’t get there on Saturday, dial us up on your radio to hear live updates from the event all afternoon long. From 12 – 3pm, our own Craig Adams will interview those in attendance and those who make the Festival run. It’s going to be a good time! The Lorain International Festival is officially underway, and this year the event will feature the festivals first ever Duck Derby. On Sunday, June 26, nearly 5,000 rubber ducks will work their way down the Black River. Prizes for the best finishes in the race are worth $1,000, $500 and $250. The cost to adopt a single duck is $5 with deals as your purchase more. Ducks can be purchased either online at www.duckrace.com or in person at the Lorain International Festival. Proceeds from the race go to the International Festival and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lorain.
