Discover the Ridge

discover the ridgeThis Saturday from 9am – 3pm “Discover the Ridge”. The open house event will explore the people, places and things that make North Ridgeville so unique.

Discover the Ridge’s Adventure Trail will start at the spring Market at the Education Center where there will be table after table of crafts, antiques, flowers and so much more. After that make a stop at the North Ridgevill Dairy Queen for a small cone until 3pm. Along the trail you will make stops at the Blue Barn Shops, the Elite K-911 Dog Training Center, and the Sandy Ridge Reservation where you can find the most beautiful views of the city.

Spotlight on Lorain

This week in Lorain we talked about the history of the city with Barb Piscopo of the Lorain Historical society, touched on health and wellness with Stephanie Wiersma of  Lorain County Health and Dentristry and even Mayor Chase Ritenauer stopped by to tell us about his plans for the future of Lorain.

After a successful three days at the Lorain Historical Society, the Lorain County Title Office and the Sunset Terrace at Lakeview Park, unfortunately we must pack up and head back to our studio’s in Elyria. However, we are not done with our spotlight series. Coming up on Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14 we will be heading out once again, and this time we will be shinning the Spotlight on Vermilion. So come down to Vermilion for a fun filled two days and join us as we broadcast live from The Nest Restaurant.

The community is welcome to come cheer on the team bus as they make their way around the city. The days schedule is listed below for those who are interested.

Amherst Schools Announce Athletic Hall of Fame

AmherstOn the WEOL Morning Show, Amherst Schools Athletic Director Casey Wolf announced that the school has laid the ground work for its first Athletic Hall of Fame.

The process for the Hall of Fame started nearly three years ago when Casey Wolf was hired as the schools AD. Now the hard work has paid off as the first class of inductees will be announced in late September during the school’s homecoming festivities.

For those who would like to nominate former Comet athletes, they can do so by filling out a nomination application on the Amherst Schools athletic webpage.  July 31st will mark the last day that applications are accepted.
