Public Forum Set for Proposed Athletic Complex in Elyria

The Elyria Schools will be holding a community forum session to gather public input and to share information on the new athletic complex that is part of the proposed plan for a new PreK-8 schools in Elyria. All residents will be welcome to join the conversation at the Elyria High School Performing Arts Center at 10am on Saturday, Febuary 6. If you would like more information take a listen to what Superintendent Tom Jama and Communications and Marketing Director Amy Higgins had to say about the project on our morning show. The Seventh Annual Great Big Home and Garden show is set to kick off Feb. 5 at the IX Center in Cleveland. A number of celebrates from the DIY world will be attending including Two Chicks and a Hammer from HGTV, The Beekman Boys of the Cooking Channel, DIY Networks Jason Cameron, and Room by Room host Matt Fox. This  morning Rosanna Hrabnicky let us know more about next weekends event.

On Tuesday night the 14-2 Lorain Titans traveld to 14-3 Garfield Heights. While the Titans took a three point lead into the break, Garfield Heights would ultimately come away with the victory behind a 56% shooting performance in the second half. Daviere Andrews led Lorain with 20 points in the game. The Bulldogs leading scorer was Marreon Jackson with 17 points. The loss ends a five game winning streak for the Titans.

 

Tom Hutchison Celebrates 40 Years at WEOL

Today Tom Hutchison and the WEOL staff celebrated perhaps one of the greatest tenures in broadcasting. 40-years ago today Tom was hired at WEOL as an on-air announcer.  Today Tom is the man behind the commercials you hear on the station serving  WEOL as the Continuity and Production Director.  Thank you, Tom, for all you do here at WEOL.
