After the Browns 28-12 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday, owner Jimmy Haslam announced that Cleveland had fired GM Ray Farmer and head coach Mike Pettine. This morning we talked with the Chronicle Telegram’s Scott Petrak about where the team goes from here.

Tuesday the Holiday Tournaments were in full swing on WEOL. The Lorain County Tournament got underway with the Elyria/Lorain rivalry. At the same time, the Wellington Holiday Tournament concluded with the Championship game between Vermilion and Wellington. To hear either game, click on the scores below.

In the second game of the night at the Lorain County Holiday Tournament, Elyria and Lorain renewed an old fashioned rivalry. While the Pioneers jumped out to the games first lead, a 23 point night from Daviere Andrews would ultimately allow the Titans to claim the win when the buzzer sounded. The Lorain victory would have set up a meeting with Toledo St. John’s in the title game. Unfortunately,after the game police were called to an altercation between fans in the parking lot causing the tournament officials to cancel the second day. Titans Pioneers Final

 

In the Wellington Holiday Classic Tournament Championship, Vermilion and Wellington met for the second straight year. The two teams battled back and fourth before forcing overtime after a 59-59 tie at the end of regulation. In the extra period Wellington jumped out to a quick five point lead. Vermilion evened up the game with under a minute to play and then earned the win when Nik Barkdull drained a buzzer beater on the baseline.

This week featured a Girls/Boys Double header on Tuesday night between Amherst and Firelands. The opening game of he night pitted two girls teams who have found early success on the season, while the boys game featured a Comets team looking for the first win and a Falcons squad who was looking to get back to .500.  Click on the scores below to hear the games on demand.

In the nights opening game Amherst worked their way to a come from behind victory with strong three point shooting and suffocating defense. Amherst’s Sydney Roule led all scorers in the game with 20 points. Tori Grasso led the Falcons with 18 Points in the game.

Boys GameFalcons Comets Boys Final

In the boys game the Comets picked up their first win under first year head coach Pat Bray. Leading the way for the Comets was Carter Zajokowski who tallied a team high 11 points . Despite the loss, Firelands’ Jeremy Simonovich had a game high 13 points.
