Carmen Ambar Announced as Oberlin College President

On Tuesday morning, Oberlin College announced that Carmen Ambar as the schools new President.

She becomes the 15th president of Oberlin College and the first African American leader in the school’s 184 year history.

Ambar makes her way to Oberlin from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where she was President of the school for nine years. She replaces Marvin Krislov who announced in February he would be leaving the school for Pace University in New York before the start of the next school year.

Ambar will officially take over the position full time in September.

College Application Advice

The end of the school year is upon us. For many young high school juniors the year ahead will mean applying to colleges and hoping to open the acceptance letter  of your favorite school.

Believe it or not, there are ways to gain the upper hand when applying to colleges. Young students can take practice SAT or ACT tests, visit with advisers at the college they hope to attend or practice writing skills for a little advantage.

Senator Sherrod Brown

On Thursday morning, Bruce and Craig were joined by Senator Sherrod Brown on the Morning Show.

During the interview they asked the Senator about the things going on in the Nations Capital.  Senator Brown gave his take on the firing of FBI Director James Comey and what he thinks will and should occur next in the process.

Economic Summit

Ken Mayland

Lorain County Held their first economic Summit on Tuesday, May 9 at the Lorain County Community College Spitzer Conference Center.

The days Keynote Speaker was Don Marinelli, a retire professor from Carnegie Mellon who played a great role in the city of Pittsburgh’s economic plan. Along with Don, Ken Mayland of ClearView Economics addressed the crowd and took questions from the audience.
