Operation Watchdog

Lorain County Prosecutor J.D. Tomlinson has announced the arrest of seven individuals as part of “Operation Watchdog”, an undercover sting led by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The defendants, ages 24 to 53 – years-old, engaged in sexually explicit online conversations with undercover officers posing as children. The defendants expressed an interest in engaging in sexual activity with the purported children and/or disseminated images of their genitals during these online conversations.
Following these interactions, the individuals traveled to pre-arranged locations to engage in sexual activity with purported children. Upon arriving, they were arrested by law enforcement officers and transported to the Elyria Police Department and later to the Lorain County Jail.

It’s time to close the “homework gap” so children can thrive! Former NFL player Malcolm Mitchell loves to read, but it wasn’t always so. He is working to ensure all kids have internet access for academic success with his Connect2Compete program in partnership with Cox Communications. Malcolm shared some insight into what exactly the “homework gap” is and how his program helps all kids succeed with the proper tools they need.

A Busy Summer for the Community Foundation of Lorain County

Laura Malone returned to the show to talk about the Imagination Library as they try to reach 10,000 new child registrations by the end of August. Plus, Laura encouraged listeners to come to Neighbor Night, happening TONIGHT (July 21st) at the Harrison Cultural Center!
