7:40am – Last night Elyria Native Tianna Bartoletta captured gold in the women’s long jump at the Olympics. The WEOL Morning Show caught up with Bartoletta’s high school track coach Jackie Below this morning to talk about her amazing performance in Rio.

8:10am – The Dover Players  talked about their brand new play Branches. The story features a man who’s decisions are swayed by the audiences interaction. Director Gregory Lavelle and actor Bobby Caco spoke about the unique drama.

Elyria Native Wins Gold in Rio

Bartoletta

Elyria native Tianna Bartoletta has won gold in Rio. The former Pioneer captured her second career gold medal in the long jump with a distance of 7.15 meters just edging out teammate Brittany Reece by centimeters.

Bartoletta was  a state champion at Elyria High School and also won a gold medal in the 2012 games as a member of the 4-by-100-meter relay team.
