NAMI Basics Classes and Young Adult Connections Welcoming Mixer

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Lorain County is starting their Basics educational class next month!

NAMI Basics is a weekly 6-session education program for parents, caregivers, and other family who provide care for youth who are experiencing mental health problems.

Community Outreach and Communication Coordinator Marcus Atkinson joined the guys this morning to talk about the free peer education program.

Plus, NAMI also has their Young Adult Connections Welcoming Mixer coming up on March 30th, which Marcus told us more about.

Neighborhood Alliance “Spork Off”!

The Neighborhood Alliance is thrilled to announce the completion of a new commercial kitchen located within their downtown headquarters. To celebrate, they are hosting a friendly chefs’ competition.

CEO and President Alicia Foss stopped by to talk about their upcoming “Spork Off”, where teams must use items selected by the Second Harvest Food Bank typically found in a food pantry. It takes place next Wednesday, March 29th, at their HQ on Washington Avenue!

3/22/23 7:40 Each year, approximately half a million people in the U.S. are diagnosed with “C. Difficile Infection”, aka “C. Diff Infection”. The highly contagious disease can affect anyone and can be contracted in community and hospital settings. However, few people even know what C.Diff Infection is or how it’s treated. That’s why Dr. Paul Feuerstadt (Yale University School of Medicine) and Patricia (overcame recurrent C. Diff Infection) stopped by to share more information about the disease, how it impacts those who deal with it, and the right treatment options to overcome it. (4:43)

3/22/23 8:40 Just like their humans, dogs can suffer from seasonal allergies. It can be “ruff” for them! Joining us this morning was Dr. Dana Liska, a veterinary dermatology specialist, who explained the many causes of seasonal allergies in dogs and how to help your pooch lose that itch. (7:29)
