2019 Spring Forecast Magazine

The 2019 Spring Forecast magazine is out!!

This years magazine features articles that take an in depth look at the High School Softball and Baseball seasons ahead. Indians fans will also enjoy a preview article that looks at this years team and how they are projected to do in the American League Central. Finally, readers will catch up with Lake Erie Crushers great Andrew Davis in an article written by the voice of the Crushers himself, Andy “Bull” Barch.

Along with the great articles found in this years edition of the Spring Forecast, there are also season schedules for the Cleveland Indians and Lake Erie Crushers. If you are wondering when you can hear your favorite team on WEOL this Softball and Baseball season, make sure to check out the Broadcast schedule located on page two.

2019 Lorain County Miss Basketball

Amherst’s Kamryn Dziak

On Tuesday night during the Lorain County Girls High School Basketball All-Star Game at the North Ridgeville Academic Center, Amherst’s Kamryn Dziak was named Lorain County’s 2019 Miss Basketball.

During the season, the Amherst standout averaged 16.2 points a game and set a new school record knocking down 74 three pointers.

Next season Dziak will continue her basketball carer playing NCAA Division I Basketball at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

State Rep, Joseph Miller on House Bill 70

On Monday March 18th, State Representative Joseph Miller of (D – Amherst) joined Bruce and Craig on the Morning show to talk about new bipartisan legislation he has introduced regarding House Bill 70.

House Bill 70 allows for the state take over of failing school districts, and currently has taken effect in the Lorain School District.

During his time on the morning Show, Rep. Miller explained how he and Rep. Don Jones (R – Freeport) have introduced a bill that would repeal portions of the current bill.

Under the new legislation, Academic Distress Commissions would be dissolved, restoring local control over public schools, and low performing schools would be empowered to provide coordinated support services like after-school enrichment and social/health services.

Harvest for Hunger 2019

Through April 13, The Second Harvest Foodbank of North Central Ohio will be conducting their annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign.

The annual community-wide campaign raises food and funds to stock food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters throughout the region – which includes Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.

Harvest for Hunger is one of the largest campaigns of its kind in the nation, raising more than $2,500,000 and 400,000 pounds of food last year.

There are many ways to get involved with the Campaign.

  • Become a Harvest for Hunger partner at your workplace or school. Encourage your company to join hundreds of others and run an employee fund and/or food drive.
  • Donate at your local Giant Eagle or Heinen’s store. Make a contribution at the register through Check Out Hunger or place food donations in Harvest for Hunger collection areas.
  • Donate Online. Financial gifts can be made through our website.
