State Rep, Joseph Miller on House Bill 70

On Monday March 18th, State Representative Joseph Miller of (D – Amherst) joined Bruce and Craig on the Morning show to talk about new bipartisan legislation he has introduced regarding House Bill 70.

House Bill 70 allows for the state take over of failing school districts, and currently has taken effect in the Lorain School District.

During his time on the morning Show, Rep. Miller explained how he and Rep. Don Jones (R – Freeport) have introduced a bill that would repeal portions of the current bill.

Under the new legislation, Academic Distress Commissions would be dissolved, restoring local control over public schools, and low performing schools would be empowered to provide coordinated support services like after-school enrichment and social/health services.
