The Community West Foundation in partnership with AM930 WEOL sponsored a “Blast for Kids”. For every home run hit by the Cleveland Indian’s in the 2013 season the Community West Foundation donated $100 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County. For every Grand Slam hit the club received $500. And the grand total was (drumroll) $19,000!

Look familiar? These toys were made in Lorain. The Mascon Toy Co. began in January 1965. It was originally the Steel Stamping Co. In 1971 it was estimated that it made about 50 different plastic toys for preschoolers. It operated at 3553 Broadway until December 1974. See these and more at (more…)
