Jason Rodak 3 on 3 Basketball Hoopfest

The Depot in LaGrange will host the 16th annual Jason Rodak 3 on 3 Basketball Hoopefest this Saturday at the Depot of Union Station in Lagrange. All proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the Jason Rodak Scholarship Fund. Jasonn was a former Keystone High School basketball players who passed away from cancer in 1999.

Play will start at 9am. The tournament will feature age groups spanning from fourth grade through high school girls and boys teams. There will also be a divisions for men’s and women’s teams. Elyria Native Wins Gold in Rio

Bartoletta

Elyria native Tianna Bartoletta has won gold in Rio. The former Pioneer captured her second career gold medal in the long jump with a distance of 7.15 meters just edging out teammate Brittany Reece by centimeters.

Bartoletta was  a state champion at Elyria High School and also won a gold medal in the 2012 games as a member of the 4-by-100-meter relay team. The WEOL Morning Show caught up with Bartoletta’s high school track coach Jackie Below this morning to talk about her amazing performance in Rio. To hear the interview click here.
