Ohio’s first “Freedge” community refrigerator is now open in Elyria! Jennifer Harmon from the Elyria Public Library stopped by along with Felicia Markus and Jennifer Wilber from Horizon Education Center to talk about the “Freedge” and how it serves the community! The “Freedge” is a sharing mechanism aiming to reduce food insecurity and food waste, building a stronger community! The “Pioneer Freedge”, located at the Elyria Public Library South Branch, will be open to the public during regular library hours!

Three bomb threats at Lorain County Community College in the past week has LCCC classes and services going remote for the rest of this week while investigation into the threats continues.

Firelands boys head basketball coach Alan Januzzi, who joined the Falcons program in 2014-2015, has informed us that he will be leaving Firelands after this school year to become head basketball coach once again at Open Door. Januzzi coached the Patriots in the early part of the 2000’s, amassing a record of 89-64 while leading the team to the Division IV State Final Four in 2003. He takes over for Kevan Ford Sr.
