Earnest Byner talks Browns, Coaching, and Softball

On Tuesday, April 30th the Lake Erie Crushers announced that Cleveland Browns legend Earnest Byner would take part in this years Legends Softball game on June 29th at the home of the Lake Erie Crushes in Avon.

Recently the former Browns star joined Bull’s Eye on the Afternoon to talk about the charity softball game and his career as a player and coach in the NFL.

Eagles Blank Rangers

Thursday night on the WEOL Baseball Diamond Duels, the Avon Eagles picked up a 4-0 road victory over SWC rival North Ridgeville.

Eagles pitching blanked the Rangers behind the outstanding play of starter Liam Ostrowski who pitched five shut out innings, walked two batters and allowed just two hits. Combined, Avon pitchers allowed just four hits in the game.

At the plate, Ryan Jones and Nate Brooks both knocked in runs to secure the win.

A Morning Show Chat with Senator Sherrod Brown

On Thursday, April 11th, The WEOL Morning show caught up with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown.

During the conversation, Bruce and Craig spoke with the Senator about new legislation he has proposed to give tax relief to working families and the likelihood of it passing. Senator Brown also addressed the arrest of Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange, and the ever rising price of prescription drugs in the United States.

Shormen edge Comets in WEOL Baseball Diamond Duel

The Avon Lake Shormen handed the Amherst Comets the second loss of the season in a 4-3 final Wednesday night.

Defensively the Shormen were lead on the mound by Ryan Shinko who allowed just three hits while pitching all in all seven inning for the win.

At the plate Ethan Shepard and Kal Kuwalu paced Avon Lake with two hits each.

The win advances the Shormen to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in SWC play. The Comets fall to 7-2 on the year and 4-2 in the SWC.
