Elyria Catholic High School’s pitcher Jack Laird (14) celebrates a strikeout

The Elyria Catholic Panthers defeated the Bay Rockets 3-1 in Thursday night’s WEOL Baseball Diamond Duel.

Bay got out to the early lead posting a run in the opening stanza, However, EC pitcher Jack Laird found his stride a short time later allowing just two hits the rest of the way and striking out 13 batters.

Helping out his own cause, Laird belted a two run homer in the fourth inning to help Elyria Catholic claim a 3-1 Great Lakes Conference win.
